Welcome to RoofCoatingNetwork.com (“RCN,” “we,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, directory, tools, and services. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
1. RCN Is a Platform, Not a Roofing Contractor
RCN is an online directory and marketing platform that helps building owners find and compare independent roof coating contractors, and helps contractors market their services. RCN does not perform roofing or coating work, does not employ the contractors listed, and is not a party to any contract between you and a contractor. Any agreement for roofing services is solely between you and the contractor you choose.
2. Independent Contractors
Contractors listed on RCN are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, partners, or joint venturers of RCN. RCN does not supervise, direct, or control their work, pricing, scheduling, licensing, insurance, or workmanship.
3. No Guarantee of Contractor Performance
RCN makes no warranty or guarantee regarding any contractor’s qualifications, licensing, insurance, pricing, workmanship, timeliness, or conduct. You are responsible for evaluating any contractor before hiring, including verifying current licensing and insurance for your state and project. Any warranty on work performed comes from the contractor and/or the product manufacturer — not from RCN.
4. Verification Scope and Limitations
Some listings display badges such as “Verified.” A badge means the contractor provided certain information (for example, proof of business identity, manufacturer certification, or insurance documentation) that RCN reviewed at a point in time, or that a manufacturer’s public certification program listed the contractor at the time we checked. Verification is limited in scope, is not continuously monitored, can become outdated, and is not an endorsement or guarantee. “Unverified” fields mean RCN has not confirmed that information.
5. Paid Placement and Ranking Disclosure
Contractors and manufacturers can pay RCN for subscriptions that affect how prominently they appear, including placement above free listings in search results and featured positions. Default result ordering considers paid tier along with relevance and location. Paid participation does not change the substance of reviews or verification status.
6. Quotes and Lead Distribution
When you submit a quote or estimate request, you authorize RCN to share your project details and contact information with participating contractors matched to your project — including contractors affiliated with RCN — who may contact you by phone, text, or email about your request. We may also route requests to a single affiliated or partner contractor where coverage is limited. Submitting a request is free for building owners and creates no obligation to hire anyone. You may withdraw a request at any time by emailing support@roofcoatingnetwork.com.
7. Accounts
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate, current information. Contractor accounts must be created by someone authorized to act for the business. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure.
8. Subscriptions, Billing, and Renewal
Paid listings and services are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected at checkout) and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices, features, and plan structures may change with notice; changes apply at your next renewal. Taxes may apply. You authorize our payment processor to charge your payment method on each renewal date.
9. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel any subscription at any time from your account or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals and your paid features remain active through the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout, fees already paid are non-refundable and no prorated refunds are issued for partial periods.
10. User Content and Project Photos
You retain ownership of content you submit (profiles, descriptions, project photos, reviews). By submitting content you grant RCN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and promote it on the platform and in RCN marketing. You represent that you own or have permission to use everything you submit — including permission from property owners where photos identify a property — and that it is accurate and not misleading. RCN may review, hold, edit for formatting, or remove content at its discretion, and submissions may be held for moderation before appearing.
11. Profile Claiming and Corrections
RCN compiles basic business listings from public sources so building owners can find coverage in every state. If a listing describes your business, you may claim it to manage it, or request corrections or removal by contacting support@roofcoatingnetwork.com. We will verify that you are authorized to act for the business before transferring control.
12. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: misrepresent your identity, certifications, licensing, or insurance; post false or deceptive reviews or content; submit fake quote requests; scrape, harvest, or bulk-download directory data; interfere with the operation or security of the site; use the platform to spam contractors or building owners; circumvent fees; or use the site for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
13. Calculators, Tools, and Estimates
RCN’s calculators, measurement tools, energy and rebate estimates, and comparison content are informational estimates only, based on published averages and simplified models. They are not bids, quotes, engineering advice, or guarantees of material quantities, costs, savings, or rebate eligibility. Utility rebate programs change and are controlled entirely by the utility. Always confirm specifications with the manufacturer and pricing with a qualified contractor.
14. Intellectual Property
The RCN name, logo, site design, and original content are the property of RCN and protected by law. Manufacturer names, product names, and logos appearing on the site are trademarks of their respective owners, used for identification only; their appearance does not imply sponsorship or endorsement of RCN unless expressly stated. You may not copy, republish, or create derivative works from site content without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.
15. Third-Party Links and Services
The site links to third-party websites (manufacturer spec sheets, utility rebate pages, contractor websites). RCN does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, accuracy, or practices.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SITE AND ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. RCN DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DIRECTORY INFORMATION IS COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR ACCURATE.
17. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RCN AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM WORK PERFORMED BY ANY CONTRACTOR, ANY DEALINGS BETWEEN USERS, OR RELIANCE ON ESTIMATES OR DIRECTORY INFORMATION. RCN’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID RCN IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
18. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RCN and its owners, employees, and affiliates from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your content, your use of the site, your services or work product, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@roofcoatingnetwork.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 30 days. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. To the extent permitted by law, both parties waive the right to participate in a class action. Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date above reflects the latest revision; material changes will be noted on the site. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
