This Privacy Policy explains what RoofCoatingNetwork.com (“RCN,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and — most importantly — how quote requests are shared with contractors. By using the site you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Quote and estimate requests: name, phone number, email, property address or location, roof details (size, type, condition), project description, and your preferred contact method if provided.
Contractor accounts and listings: business name, contact details, service areas, certifications, photos, and billing information (payment card details are processed by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers).
Usage data: pages viewed, listings clicked, calculator inputs you choose to submit, approximate location from your browser when you use map tools, and standard log data (IP address, device and browser type).
Journey data: to route your request to the right contractors, our forms record which pages you visited before submitting (for example, which state page or contractor profile you came from). This is stored in your browser and attached to your request when you submit it.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to: match and deliver quote requests to contractors; operate and improve the directory, calculators, and tools; process subscription payments; respond to support requests; measure listing performance for contractors (profile views and clicks); prevent spam and abuse; and send service communications. We do not sell your personal information.
3. How Quote Requests Are Shared
When you submit a quote or estimate request, your project details and contact information are shared with participating independent contractors matched to your project — including contractors affiliated with RCN — so they can contact you about your request by phone, text, or email. Contractors who receive your request are independent businesses responsible for their own use of your information and their own privacy practices. We share your request with a limited number of matched contractors, not with the directory at large, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
You can withdraw a request at any time by emailing support@roofcoatingnetwork.com; we will stop distributing it, though contractors who already received it may still contact you until you ask them to stop.
4. Other Sharing
We share information with service providers who operate the site on our behalf (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics), under obligations to protect it; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; and in connection with a business transfer (sale or merger), in which case this policy continues to apply.
5. Contractor Listing Data
Directory listings are business information, much of it compiled from public sources (business websites, manufacturer certification directories, trade associations) so building owners can find coverage everywhere. Listings are public by design. If a listing describes your business, you may claim it, correct it, or request removal at support@roofcoatingnetwork.com.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, saved contractors, remembering tool inputs, and site analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features (like saved listings) will not work without them.
7. Data Retention
We keep quote requests and account data while your account is active or as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and maintain business records, then delete or de-identify it. You may request deletion at any time (Section 8).
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may: withdraw a quote request; opt out of non-essential emails via the unsubscribe link; and request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@roofcoatingnetwork.com. Depending on your state, you may have additional privacy rights (such as access, deletion, correction, and portability under state privacy laws); we honor verified requests as required by the law that applies to you, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising them.
9. Children
The site is for business and property-related use and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards (encrypted connections, access controls, managed hosting security) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be noted on the site.
